HOW TO INSTALL
Handle with care

  1. The valve must be installed in an open or closed position.
  2. The lifting of the valve must be done using belts and safety hooks.
  3. Do not weld the flanges to the piping after installing the valve.
  4. Before installation, make sure that the piping has been carefully cleaned and is free of any residualparticles, such as soil, small stones, etc.
  5. In case of installation in wells, ensure there is suitable drainage.
  6. Place the valve between the flanges of the tube and put liners between the flanges of the valve and theflanges of the tube. Check that the liners are positioned correctly. The distance between the counterflanges must be the same as the face to face distance of the valve. Do not use the bolts of the counterflanges to close the piping. The bolts must be tightened crosswise.

DO NOT
Weld the flanges to the pipe after installing the valve.
Water hammers might cause damage and ruptures. Inclination, twisting and misalignments of the pipingmay subject the valve to stress, once it has been installed. It is recommended to use elastic joints in orderto reduce these effects as much as possible.

USE
In environments exposed to frequent freezing, drain the piping and the valve of stagnant water.

MAINTENANCE
No aesthetic care is required for this product.
A regular maintenance program is the most efficient method to ensure a long term efficiency of your gatevalve. The program should include a risk assessment and a planned procedure of how the maintenancewill be carried out.
The correct fitting tools and equipment should be used for valve maintenance. Separate means ofdraining the pipe work must be provided when carrying out any maintenance to valves.
Where there maybe any system debris this could be collected and/or filtered by installation of the appropriate protective device (see our items 415).

WARNING
Before carrying out maintenance or dismantling the valve:
Ensure that the pipes, valves and fluids have cooled down, that the pressure has decreased and that thelines and pipes have been drained in case of toxic, corrosive, inflammable or caustic liquids.
Temperatures above 50°C and below 0°C might cause damage to people.
